In the short time I got to know these two, I immediately adored them! Seriously, there is not a more fun loving pair such as the new Mr. and Mrs. Shields! Silly yet charming, giggly yet gorgeous, it truly was an honor to capture this special day for them!
Three football players, a set of twins, and two rockstar parents make up the fun loving Styer Family! This was such a picture perfect shoot, even the mosquitos were cooperating... although the same can't be said for the stubborn Moose literally 100 ft away... which sadly had to be photoshopped out of most pictures because who wants a lumpy brown looking stump in the background. But hey, made for a memorable night and the kids sure loved it!
Growing up she was the big sister I never had. She taught me how to wear dresses, that my hair didn't ALWAYS need to be in a pony tail, and that I could add a pinch of pink to my "Tom-boyish" wardrobe without going up in flames (although I'm still not entirely convinced...). Here's to my gorgeous cousin Kandy and her soon to be baby boy!
Where do I begin. First of all, Kailey and Trent were the winners of my free photo session give away (which even still they snuck $100 in my bag!!!!) but believe me when I say... this couldn't have landed on a more perfect family! We did a morning shoot up Little Cottonwood Canyon because as we all know... mornings are ALWAYS happier when "littles" are involved. But not only that, its apparently "Moose happy hour" as well. About 5 minutes into the shoot, one of the largest Moose I have ever seen decided to photobomb the session! We quickly moved to a different area, but were again confronted by Mr. Moose towards the end. I think he just wanted some company because man he was clingy! It helped put smiles on the kids faces though.. I think. Although no one could ever answer my question "What does a Moose say!?"... what DOES a moose say?.... sigh... I feel ya kids.
Ben + Jessica ~ What an awesome duo these two make! When I first saw Jessica on the day of her wedding, it was about 20 min from the ceremony, and she was still in her soccer shorts, makeup-less, and smiling ear to ear. I knew instantly, this girl is cool. She didn't have a care in the world, as her sweet and helpful bridesmaids buzzed around her helping her get ready. It was as if nothing really mattered except the part of when she said "I do". Thats my kind of bride! (which is why I LOVE the shoe-less jumping picture the most!) But of course, within minutes she was dolled up and glowing like a girl in love! It was such an honor to see these two surrounded by such tenderness of close family and friends. Happily ever after you two!!
Our closest friends, Chanda and Tyson Hutchings are two of the most selfless, genuine, and fun loving souls you've ever met. The only thing missing was a family of their own to share it with. And after 6 years of struggles, pessimistic doctors, failed adoptions, and health concerns they finally found themselves pregnant with a healthy baby girl! Beyond honored to photograph this glowing mom and dad to be!
I don't mean to brag, but do I have the most gorgeous cousin or what? I know, she looks exactly like me too! (I wish...) Here are some blissful engagements from a drainage ditch near my house (talk about finding a diamond in the rough!) Beautiful location, you'd have no idea their feet were completely muddy and a busy road was just 50 ft away. I love couples who are daring and trust me!
For their bridals, I was a little more cautious of the location. Didn't really want to ruin her dress before the wedding!... this one was fun though because they chose to do a "first look" which I LOVE! It allowed them the opportunity to preserve seeing each other for the first time on camera, It was also so advantageous to get the photos done ahead of time instead of the day of when EVERYTHING else is going on. Oh and of course then they were able to have bridals printed for the reception! Win win win!
